Swim Lessons

Hayden took swim lessons from Ms. Lisa in August and September and really got brave in the water this summer.  Hayden can jump in the water, turn around and bob all the way back to the wall by herself, she can float on her back, and swim freestyle without help.  She is also working on her side breathing.  I am so proud of her and hope hope she likes swimming as much as I do!

I know I took video but now I can't find it anywhere on my phone :(  Pretty sad about this!

Air Force Football

On September 13th we had the opportunity to go to the Air Force vs Georgia State football game.  They played in the Georgia Dome which was inside, so we decided to take Reid along with us.  It was actually FREEZING cold inside with the AC blasting.

Hayden has turned into quite the cheerleader.  We were sitting in the Georgia section and Hayden yelled, "Go Air Force, go falcons, wooohooo" over and over again. It was pretty funny to see how animated she got.

The Air Force won!  Overall it was a fun day!

RBA

Reproductive Biology Associates is the practice that I went to for my infertility problems.  I have been meaning to take Reid in to meet Dr. Mitchell-Leef and her nurses since he was born!  I worked the most with Nancy, the nurse on the right.  I finally did it on August 27th when he was still 8 months old.  

I'm so very grateful to these women and it was so fun to bring Reid in to meet them.  He was relaxed as normal and they immediately picked up on what an easy going baby he is.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Reid was definitely worth the wait!

Hayden Turns 5!!!

We had such grand plans for Hayden's 5th birthday!  The night before I was trying to frost her cake and started to feel a little off, then about an hour later I developed a fever which peaked at 103 degrees and stayed there for quite some time.  I got mastitis :(  Paul called the on call doctor around 3 am and she called in a prescription for antibiotics.  The next morning I has still pretty sick throughout the day, threw up a couple of times and could not get the fever to go down.  Then Paul came in the room to inform me that our water main outside had a leak and our water was off and plumbers were coming to take a look at it.  It was quite the day!

Hayden was very disappointed that I was ruining her birthday.  She did not understand that it was out of my control.  But after some talks with dad she finally came around.  We had planned on taking her best friend along with us to get pedicures.  There was no way I could do it, so Paul took her out to lunch and then that night our friends the Heinholds came over for cake and ice cream.

The big highlight of her birthday this year was that she got an American Girl Doll!  She has wanted one for awhile now, but I thought she was too young.  Anyway, because I was out of it, there are no pictures with her doll!  And her cake was a pinterest fail!  I had several people text or ask me what her cake was after I posted pictures on facebook.  Oh well, Hayden knew what it was and loved it.  I blame it on the fever!

We also made these out of marshmallows and tootsie rolls, Hayden loved them!

Paul stepped up and not only worked, dealt with the water problem, but also made her her special birthday breakfast.  She requested German Pancakes.

We finally did get around to the pedicure a week later! Hayden picked blue nail polish which has definitely been her favorite color lately.

9 Months Old

Reid had his well baby check up so here are his stats:  

Weight: 20 lbs 7 oz 50th percentile

Height: 30 inches 95th percentile

Head: 47 1/2 96th percentile

This little guy loves to roll everywhere!  One morning I couldn't find him anywhere and it scared me until I heard him making cute baby sounds...under Hayden's bed!

He FINALLY started to sit for long periods of time just before turning 9 months on August 27th.  We delayed his 6 month pictures because our photographer wanted him to be sitting and now we are at 10 months with no professional pictures of this little guy!

On August 28th Reid discovered how cool his thumb is and bent it and twirled it around for a substantial amount of time!  It was pretty entertaining to watch him.

Reid has so much more hair than Hayden did at this age, so it was time for his first hair cut.  My friend Stephanie supervised me.  This was on September 27th.

Reid also had his first ear infection around 9 months.  He was just not his normal happy self, I figured he was teething, but when we went to his well baby check up he had a double ear infection.  That made me feel bad!  But he was still taking naps, sleeping through the night, he is seriously the best baby ever!

Preschool

We arrived back from Georgia late Monday night.  Tuesday morning I took Hayden to meet her teacher and Wednesday she started preschool!  Her teacher is Ms. Tricia and she was excited to get back into her routine.

Reid 8 Months Old

Reid turned 8 months old while we were in Utah.  Everyone was impressed with what an easy going baby he is.  We flew to Colorado, 10 drive to Salt Lake, 5 hour drive to Jackson, and about a 12 hour travel day back to Georgia and he did great!  Heavenly Father must have known I needed an easy going baby with all the changes that are happening in our lives this year.
