Happy Birthday Paul

Paul finally caught up to me and turned 31!  He got to work from home on his birthday which was great.  I made him German pancakes for breakfast and we opened presents after lunch because Hayden couldn't wait any longer.  I showed her where I was hiding his presents and for days before his actual birthday Hayden tried to tempt Paul into opening them.  She kept asking if she would also get to open presents on Dad's birthday and I kept telling her the same answer: no.  But she wouldn't hear it, so she went around the house collecting old toys and putting them into gift bags.  She acted completely shocked and happy about each gift she opened!  We got Paul a bundt pan because he always complained about my old one, a pair of dress pants and an awesome drill.

For dinner Paul chose to go to Jim and Nicks, a BBQ place out here.  And for dessert I picked up slices of cake from Marietta Diner.  Seriously we have gone there 3 times in less than a month, not good!  Hayden loved singing happy birthday to daddy. We probably sang it about 5 times and when we ran out of real cake, she got her toy cake from her kitchen and we sang again!

Hayden prefers this cookie to the cake, so this was her treat!  Yummy!

Happy Birthday Paul!  We hope you enjoyed your day!

Dance Pictures

Hayden is just getting too grown up.  She just seems too little to be having dance pictures and a recital coming up!  Hayden absolutely loves this costume and seriously begs to wear it every chance she gets.  So she was very excited to put it on for picture day!

Waiting for pictures

After pictures, her whole class

Serious pose

Silly faces, although I think Hayden's the only one that did it!

We're excited to see how Hayden does on stage this May!

Easter Weekend

Hayden was lucky enough to get to have her friends come stay with us from Wednesday to Sunday!  She was in heaven playing with Kimball and London and L.O.V.E.D. holding and feeding baby Brooklyn.  Their parents and older 2 brothers went to New York and we were so happy they asked us to help out with the younger ones.

On Friday I had a Dr. appointment so the Mendenhalls went to play with another family and we took advantage of Paul's day off and went to breakfast at the Egg Harbor Cafe and then died Easter Eggs. This year we tried our hand at glitter eggs on some of them.  Hayden was beyond excited as she loves anything girly like that.

Because we have early church and 3 extra kids this weekend, we decided to do the hunt on Saturday when we'd have plenty of time to let them hunt, eat, and play with their new toys.  Here is what the Easter bunny left!

Kimball finding his basket and checking everything out

Hayden has been begging for a cash register for months now and the Easter bunny finally heard her pleas!

London was very excited about her Minnie doll and wanted her shoes on right away!

Baby Brooklyn even got a basket full of bottles and a cute outfit.

That night we decided to do sponge rollers to make their hair extra cute and it worked!

Love their cute Easter outfits!

My favorite Easter picture.  Seriously, how cute is she?  She has been asking everyday if she can wear this dress and was so excited the day had finally arrived.  She loved her hair too and kept looking in the mirror to check out the curls!

After church we went to our friends the Heinholds and again just like Christmas, took 0 pictures!!!  But this time maybe I had an excuse.  Hayden had a pretty big melt down and wouldn't even come in the room.  Sunday was a bit of a rough day, all the kids had had it with each other.  Hayden's use to a lot of quiet time and I think the Mendenhalls were missing their big brothers and mom and dad.  But the second they left Hayden was devastated. They had such a fun time together and we are so glad we could have them stay at our house.  Dinner was great, Stephanie made ham, jello, potatoes, dessert, and I brought a strawberry salad, my grandma's rolls, and a carrot souffle.  We had a great Easter and are grateful for our Georgia family!
